The objectives of this study is to critically examine the perspectives of Sri Lankan psychologists regarding their nature of work and their profession. Data from interviews with 20 psychologists (with 1 to 14 years of experience) was collected using semistructured interviews and other methods, and analyzed using a modified grounded theory approach. Results showed that while they had “no opportunities to learn and develop,” psychologists provided “diverse support “while dealing with “values and prejudices based on diverse fields and religions” and feeling “the significance and reward of empathy.” They also expressed a desire for “importance of attending regional conferences and improved working conditions” as a form of support
